Here is my layout based on the sketch from Paper Popsicles. Not sure why Maddie's crying - but it makes you wonder about the Sugar & Spice thing! Thanks for looking!

How Cool is This? - Sketchy Thursday Challenge

Wow is - this outside my box or what? The yellow is actually paint - and the black dots are randomly,(I don't do random), placed with a dotriffic pen!
When I showed it to Niko he read the title - and said "Cool". I asked "so you like it" to which he replied "No, it has too much white, you need to put flowers everywhere". He is my best (?) critic.

This will also double for the "Use your stash" challenge.

 

 

Another Design Team Rejection!

More Rejected layouts for Pink Sketch Design team. The Indian Boy layout was actually based on a sketch - the other page is actually the first page of a 2 page layout. I worked really hard on the sketch - but apparently it wasn't what they were looking for. I did not do a very good job of sending it - I messed up on the attachments - which probably didn't help any either. Oh well, another learning experience. I think I'm going to give up on the design team idea for now.
 

Here is a close up of the thumbprint indians - they even have googlie eyes!

This is my entry for the Cooking it up With Katie Challenge. The Challenge was to use: 1 image, 2 shapes and 3 paper embelishments. This was really a fun challenge.

PiaNO also works for the Scrap & Stamp Saturday Challenge

This just happend to fit into the Scrap and Stamp Saturday Challenge - it had to be distressed - How distressed does Niko look - oh - they meant the layout. And it has to have at least one stamp. My journaling circle is a stamp - next time - I'll stamp first and then cut out the circle - live and learn!

This is a picture of Niko. The journaling tells how he had his fist recital - he had practiced and was going to do great - but when it was his turn he FREAKED and ended up not performing.

I'll have to do another page titled PiNAno - that's how he says it!

99 Cent Target Scrapbook STUFF!

 

These are the items I bought - there were a lot of cute stickers - and other paper packs of glitter paper. I bought mine at Great Lands Target.

Not in the dollar spot - but actually in the scrapbook aisle. I also overheard two of the associates talking about resetting the scrapbook stuff - and talking about clearancing it! Gotta go check it out!

My latest discovery!

Okay, did another sketch challenge and once again didn't even get noticed. I think maybe my pages are TO much like the original sketch. I thought that was the whole idea of the sketch - but when I look at the layouts that get noticed they are sometimes VERY far off from the sketch. I guess I need to try just using the sketch as a starting place and not try to make it look like the actual sketch. This doesn't really make sence to me - but it seems to be the way it goes. Anyone else have an opinion? I really would like some feed back. Am I really soooo far off?
Anyone?

This is the Sketchy Thursday sketch for this week! I haven't started it yet - but hope to have it done by Wednesday night deadline.

 
Niko lost his first tooth - it was so exciting for him. He's excited about the tooth fairy coming to bring him a dollar! I had to put his tooth in a little bottle for him to take to school.
Wish I could have gotten better pictures. Another layout for my list!

Am I getting any closer? I've tried every suggestion I've been given - and still not sure I've got it! Niko says I'm older than him - so I don't have to make it perfect. Not asking for pefect - just decent! I guess I'll just keep trying! What do you think?

Still struggling with taking pics of layouts! BUT

I have gotten several suggestions from my NEW friends at Sketchy Thursday. Those ladies are awsome. Several have given me tips - and even more have taken the time to check out my sketch and blog... They are awsome. YEAH FOR SKETCHY THURSDAY!!!!!!!

HELP!

I have my layout finished for the design team call - but cannot get a good straight picture of it. I've tried several methods of taking the picture - flat - with camera flat above - I tried putting it on the wall - didn't work! No matter what I do I tend to get the picture crooked - so when I try to crop it - it looks awful! Anyone know what I mean. I've had several people try to help - Kristen Faust from 2 peas - but she uses photoshop to straighten. I've tried straightening in picasa - but continue to have the same problem. Here are examples of what I'm talking about.

I'm in the process of scrapping this for the Thursday Challenge. I should get it done soon. It has been raining here all day (we need the rain), so I'm not sure I will be able to get a decent picture of it to post! Well See!

Hopefully, I'll have time to get some layouts edited and can add them this weekend... I've been blog hopping - there are some great blogs and challenges out there. Now if I only had more time in my day!

Side 2 of Field Trip Layout

I finished the 2nd side of this layout. I was anxious to post it - so I didn't get a good picture with good lighting to work with... I just wanted to post this seems how it is done. NOTE TO SELF: layout both sides of layout when I do a 1 page challenge, even if I don't have time to do both sides - otherwise I don't end up getting the same ballance in the 2 pages as I would if I plan them both together.

But I did plenty of shopping! Some scrapbook related of course. I'll post the cool picture frame I got from TJ Max for .30. It will be awsome with layouts in each of the openings! I also got something to better display my layouts when I finish them - so they don't get put in an album right away. I'll share more - hopefully with pictures later!

Can't quite figure out how to get this "improved" version into the earlier post. What do you think - is there alot of difference? I still have a lot to learn - - - but I'm trying!

One of the peas sent me a pea mail regarding the quality of my photos of my layouts. She has a tutorial on her blog that gives step by step procedures - but it uses Photo Shop. I attempted to do this with picassa. I will attempt to post the BEFORE and AFTER... We shall see.

Not quite getting this blogging the image. So this will be considered the first - although I would have cropped it - before I would have posted. The other version - is Above?????

Got another layout done! I decided to partipate in the BOS Challenge on Twopeas - I was surprised how quickly (for me) this went together. So I just had to share:
